Pitching an idea can feel like tossing it into the void. What happens next? In fact, part of the inspiration for Simpull was seeing so many of our friends on Twitter, LinkedIn, various Slack groups, all shouting into the ether, wishing for something to exist that didn’t!
At Simpull, we want to demystify the process. When you share an idea with us—whether through the form on our site or in our Product Incubator Slack—you’re not just dropping a note into a black box. You’re entering into a collaborative process designed to be transparent, thoughtful, and surprisingly quick.
Here’s what you can expect.
1. Every Pitch Gets Seen
We start by listening. Every idea that comes through our site or Slack channel is read by our team. We don’t filter based on who you are, how big your company is, or how much technical experience you have. If you’ve taken the time to pitch, we take the time to consider it.
2. First Pass: The Quick Triage
We’re able to use AI to move quickly in scanning and categorizing ideas. This helps us answer some key questions right away:
- Is this idea technically feasible in the near term?
- Does it serve the WordPress and/or WooCommerce community well?
- Does it align with Simpull’s focus on simplicity, usefulness, and elegance?
This step is fast. Sometimes, it’s clear right away that an idea is too large for our incubator, or maybe it overlaps with something already in motion. In those cases, we’ll let you know quickly.
3. Human Review: The Incubator Lens
AI helps us filter, but humans guide the decision. Our senior engineers and product thinkers review promising ideas with a few deeper lenses:
- Scope: Is this right-sized for us to craft and support well?
- Market: Is there real need and adoption potential for this?
- Craft: Does this align with our ethos of building things that don’t just function, but bring peace of mind?
4. Feedback, Either Way
We want to be good stewards of your creativity. So whether we pursue your idea or not, you’ll hear back from us. If we say “no,” we’ll try to give a thoughtful reason: maybe it’s too complex for our incubator, maybe it duplicates an existing solution, or maybe the timing isn’t right. A “no” doesn’t mean the idea has no value—it just means it’s not a Simpull fit right now.
5. The Green Light
When an idea is a fit, things move fast. With AI-driven prototyping and our team’s experience, we can often get to a working proof-of-concept in days, not months. From there, we invite you into the process. You’ll see updates, get to offer feedback, and be part of shaping a product that’s crafted with and for real people.
6. From Idea to Volume
Once a product is validated, it becomes part of a Simpull “Volume”—a curated release of plugins that work well on their own, but even better together. That means your idea, if chosen, doesn’t just get built—it becomes part of a thoughtful collection we share with the community.
So, what happens after you pitch? You’re heard. Your idea is quickly and carefully reviewed. You get clear feedback. And if it’s a Simpull fit, you get to watch it grow into something real—crafted with speed, care, and simplicity.
Your creativity matters. And we’re honored to help bring the best of it to life.
